Anna Leigh Ashford

Annaleigh Amanda Ashford has been an American actor, dancer and singer since the early 1990s. Her first performances on Broadway include the musicals Wicked Legally Blonde and Hair. The actress was awarded her Tony Award for Best Featured actor in the Play to play Essie Carmichael in You Can't Take It With You. Annaleigh Ashley is a Tony Award winning actor and actress, has worked with directors, actors, and other performers on stage and screen for all of her career. Ashford will be next as a co-star with Kumail Nanjiani in the Hulu limited series Welcome to Chippendales from creator Robert Siegel premiering on November 22. Ashford currently works on Searchlight Pictures' horror thriller Dust opposite Sarah Paulson, Ebon Moss Bachrach and Ebon Mosch Bachrach. This film is part of a Hulu Original and will be streamed via Disney DTC. In March of 2023 Ashford will make a return appearance on Broadway and star opposite Josh Groban in the revival of Stephen Sondheim's Sweeney Todd at the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre. Thomas Kail (director) and Jeffrey Seller (producer), the same team who created Hamilton is directing the production. Ashford's most recent part was that of Paula Jones on Ryan Murphy FX's American Crime Story Impeachment. The show is based on the nationwide scandal that involved Paula Jones Monica Lewinsky, as well as Linda Tripp. She starred in two seasons of the cult CBS comedy B Positive. The series was created by Marco Pennette, Chuck Lorre and Linda Lavin. Also, it had Ben Vereen and Elizondo. Sunday in the Park with George Wicked legally blonde and the character that was originally played by Lauren of Kinky Boots were among her other Broadway roles. She was born and grew up in Denver Ashford now splits her days between Los Angeles and New York.
